Baxterstorey is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow for our culinary team.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain high hygiene standards; Dealing with deliveries bringing in stock and putting it away.; Operate dishwashing machines and handle manual washing of pots, pans, and other kitchen items; Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff; Organise and store kitchen supplies and equipment in their designated areas; Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper disposal of rubbish; Support the kitchen team by replenishing supplies and assisting with deliveries; Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards; Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment throughout the shift; Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor; Assist with additional kitchen duties as required

Requirements

Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods; Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning chemicals; Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils; Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices; Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness; Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team; Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends; Previous experience in a similar role or kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen staff and management
