Lead Architect for Edge Computing (m/f/d)

Senior technical expert responsible for design and implementation of Edge computing related technologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, implement and support Edge computing components and applications to deliver T-Systems quality standard cloud product portfolio; Build and develop concepts, processes and methods for automation, optimization and standardization; Provide advice or information on technical aspects of Edge computing products to employees and customers; Consult, come up with and implement new innovative technologies aligned with the Edge computing innovation strategy; Design, develop, and implement architecture services based on Edge computing platform requirements; Mentor and lead less skilled colleagues; Act as key technical lead and coordinate activities across related technologies outside own team; Participate in research & development in assigned technology, determine business requirements, propose changes and develop implementation plans; Be a key end customer contact for planning solution design and creating technical concepts; Define technologies for Edge computing clusters to be implemented for production; Create Edge cluster design and cabling plan, lead installations, test, and steer technicians across OS/network/middleware/application layers; Perform, coordinate and improve most complex (3rd level) IT service and infrastructure activities to fulfill relevant KPIs

Requirements

Experience with Linux operating systems (preferably Ubuntu/Debian, SLES or RedHat); Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP and routing, Firewall and DNS, WAN, VPN); Skilled in configuring services in Linux (HTTP, DNS, DHCP, FTP); Knowledge of virtualization on Linux (KVM); Strong in overseeing system administration operations; Experienced in Unix shell scripting; Overview of Middleware related technologies; Knowledge of server HW to be able to evaluate HW builds; University degree (or appropriate experience in the field); 5-7 years of experience in the area of similar responsibility; English C1; Strong presentation skills; Experience with technical project leadership

Nice to have

Experience with OpenStack or OpenShift; Valid certification in given technology; German language skills
