Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

Haskoning is a global leader in the design and engineering of Mission Critical Facilities, particularly in the data center industry. The Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) will work with demanding customers on MCF projects requiring advanced knowledge beyond standard building features, including detailed 3D designs up to working documentation level. The role includes work in the Brown Field Services team, which operates in live Data Centres, covering risk management, assessments, and testing and commissioning protocols. The position is part of the Mission Critical Facilities team, a multidisciplinary consultancy team serving colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies.

Responsibilities

Managing and delivering mechanical work packages in multiple projects; Identifying the scope, design, and management objectives and delivering project documentation while ensuring the quality and flow of information required for contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities; Writing technical specifications and reports; Assisting the project manager in the preparation/review of project costs and risk assessments; Developing and maintaining vendor relationships ensuring continuous technical professional development; Reviewing contractor pre-qualifications and preparing tender evaluation summaries for tender reviews; Evaluating proposals and recommending vendor selection to the client; Writing technical specifications for tenders; Representing RHDHV on factory acceptance tests and site testing and commissioning activities; Communicating the status of projects to internal directors and external stakeholders (clients); Contributing to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within the field

Requirements

Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering; At least 5 years of relevant working experience in mechanical design and/or installation; Good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry; Good understanding of the daily operational business of clients; Entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible attitude; Excellent communication skills towards colleagues and clients; Fluent in English

Nice to have

Spanish is preferable; Dutch and/or German would be a plus
