Lead Software Engineer – Portfolio Tooling & Integrations

We have a contract through EOY with extension and conversion opportunity for a senior, hands-on application development engineer with 5-7+ years of experience building and supporting SaaS platforms, APIs, and integrations at production quality. The ideal candidate can step in quickly, review and strengthen team-designed solutions with clear, actionable feedback, and mentor other developers - all while operating independently as a senior technical contributor rather than a formal people manager. They should be comfortable balancing deep, hands-on delivery work with a broader advisory role, ensuring the solutions the team builds are sustainable and easy to support long-term. 100% Remote.

Responsibilities

Hands-on development and technical delivery; Architecture contribution and solution design review with other team members; SaaS platform and integration support; Technical leadership, mentorship, and developer guidance; Implementation quality and delivery oversight; Review team-created solution designs and provide clear, practical, actionable technical feedback; Operate as a senior technical contributor and advisor without functioning as a formal people leader; Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on the delivery of data and application architecture; Oversee tier 3 application support activities including assessment and execution of application upgrades and patches; Create conceptual and detailed technical design documents

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree; 5-7+ years of experience; Hands-on application engineering depth across SaaS/custom apps, APIs, integrations, automation, and production-quality implementation; Solution architecture/design review and implementation-quality oversight; Technical leadership, mentoring, and code-review influence without formal people management; Ability to operate independently with limited oversight
