Linux Systems Engineer

As part of Agile Defense, the successful candidate will provide Linux engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity services supporting the sustainment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments across Army and Military Intelligence (MI) Domain networks. The position will support both on-premises infrastructure and Army Commercial Cloud Service Provider (AC2SP) environments. Agile Defense is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support a contract providing RHEL services to INSCOM GISA. The successful candidate will have extensive experience deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments across distributed, hybrid-cloud, and global enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Provide Linux engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity services supporting the sustainment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments; Deploy, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure Linux-based servers; Develop, maintain, and enforce standardized RHEL system baselines in accordance with enterprise security requirements and STIGs; Manage RHEL software packages and repositories using YUM/DNF; Configure and maintain enterprise Linux services including DNS, DHCP, NFS; Perform continuous monitoring of Linux systems using vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus; Mitigate vulnerabilities through system reconfiguration, security patches, and configuration changes; Harden Linux systems using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs); Support compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Intelligence Community security requirements; Develop and maintain Bash, Python, and other automation scripts; Utilize automation and configuration-management technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef; Maintain accurate technical documentation for Linux systems, configurations, architectures, and operational procedures

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or 15 years of related experience; Experienced Red Hat Linux Administrator; Top Secret, SCI clearance, must have clearance to start; IAT Level III (CISSP/CASP) + Computing Environment (CE); Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA); One additional specialized certification in cloud technology or relevant to the scope of the PWS; Extensive experience deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments across distributed, hybrid-cloud, and global enterprise infrastructure
