Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic serves as a Multi-disciplined Mechanic with working foreman responsibilities. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during scheduled machine service outages. Participates as assigned in various maintenance related projects. Serves as the operator of utility systems on site where the maintenance and facilities team is assigned. Serves as a contractor coordinator and trains and oversees operations as they support Autonomous Maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production; Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during scheduled machine service outages; Participates as assigned in various maintenance related projects; Serves as the operator of utility systems on site; Serves as a contractor coordinator; Trains and oversees operations as they support Autonomous Maintenance activities; Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all chemical plant and facilities equipment, including pumps, agitators, boilers, associated piping, etc.; Overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs chemical plant equipment, including turbines, fans, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors; Serves as the operator of site utilities, in particular the site boiler, chiller, compressed air, wastewater system, etc.; Reads and interprets equipment manuals, procedures and work orders; Serves as foreman/lead technician for jobs where 3rd party contractors are assigned; Tests and chemically treats the water side of boilers and cooling towers; Trains and oversees operation personnel for preventative maintenance activities under the Autonomous Maintenance program; Participates in and may be responsible for creating procedures for repair and maintenance of mechanical and process equipment; Performs HVAC equipment maintenance and vibration analysis; Performs bolting, clamping, and welding of metal components using arc and arc gas welding equipment

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum of 3 years experience in plant maintenance; Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the required maintenance tasks; Technical training in the maintenance field; Experience with maintenance management systems like SAP; Demonstrated general knowledge of electricity, HVAC systems, and welding; Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialty
