Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of snack food equipment and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

Maintaining equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of snack food equipment and building maintenance; understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies; practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures; follows all applicable good manufacturing practices; maintains and uses appropriate PPE; attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed; makes improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program; executes and documents planned and unplanned work via CMMS; repairs and installs parts, tools and equipment; fabricates or modifies machines, tools, or equipment; performs preventative maintenance, inspections, corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds; executes and resolves equipment breakdowns/repairs; leverages root cause analysis, breakdown failure analysis and cause maps; utilizes predictive maintenance technologies; documents cause of failure; understands and interprets technical documents and diagrams; may perform maintenance and repair services of facility systems; periodically performs maintenance activities on utility systems; may be responsible for educating operations team on autonomous maintenance; may perform other duties as required

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility performing mechanical and/or electrical inspections, troubleshooting and repairs; pass plant specific maintenance test; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Driver's License; Must be Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift, aerial lifts certification; reads and interprets common technical journals; writes and presents information in one-on-one and small group situations; communicates/interacts with all levels of employees professionally; works as a team member in a team-based environment; performs simple arithmetic using precision measuring equipment; uses a computer for data entry and documentation; attention to detail, mechanical ability and ability to multi-task; makes good decisions under pressure

Nice to have

Some college or formal technical school education with demonstrated aptitude and skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and welding techniques; ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations; two years in food manufacturing environment experience; mechanical, electrical certifications/licenses preferred but not necessary
