Mammography Technologist

Responsibilities

Performing screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis; Producing high-quality mammography images with precision, compassion, and confidence; Ensuring exams meet ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Selecting appropriate exposure parameters and applying ALARA principles; Providing patient-centered care and explaining procedures to patients; Managing workflow, performing routine quality assurance, and maintaining equipment; Mentoring students and modeling professionalism

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required; Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture; Knowledge of breast anatomy, mammographic positioning, and digital tomosynthesis; Compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols
