Mammography Technologist

Responsibilities

Produce high-quality mammography images with precision and compassion; Perform screening and diagnostic mammography including tomosynthesis in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Select appropriate exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures clearly; Maintain accurate documentation, image labeling, and QA work; Manage own workflow in a busy outpatient environment and maintain equipment; Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to students

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R); ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M); Valid state radiologic technologist license (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant with 15 breast CEUs every 3 years; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Strong patient communication skills especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
