Mechanical Fitter

Join a well-established heavy engineering company specialising in industrial machinery and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role in a technical, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Carry out fault diagnosis, preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial plant and equipment; install, repair and maintain mechanical transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; perform inspections, troubleshooting and repairs using fabrication, welding and machining techniques; execute routine maintenance, lubrication schedules and safety checks; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Carry out fault diagnosis, preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial plant and equipment; Install, repair and maintain mechanical transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repairs using fabrication, welding and machining techniques; Execute routine maintenance, lubrication schedules and safety checks; Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote operational efficiency

Requirements

Strong background in heavy engineering and mechanical fitting; Qualified via Mechanical/Electrical HNC or apprenticeship; Hands-on experience preferred; Experience working with heavy industrial machinery or production equipment; Skills in welding, fabrication, machining and mechanical troubleshooting
