Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

This role would be ideal for someone with minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience who is looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility within a supportive engineering environment. Perhaps you're currently working as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Technician or Engineering Technician and are ready for the next challenge.

You'll be working in a team of engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of machinery and equipment while helping to keep our production operation running safely, reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and site facilities.; Responding to equipment breakdowns and assisting with fault finding and repairs.; Supporting machinery installations, modifications and improvement projects.; Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise performance.; Maintaining maintenance records and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.; Supporting continuous improvement activities and helping identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.; Following all health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Requirements

Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.; Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance, engineering or manufacturing environment.; Mechanical maintenance experience gained through work experience, apprenticeship or technical role.; Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.; Ability to work safely and follow established procedures.; Strong teamwork and communication skills.; A proactive approach and desire to develop your engineering career.
