About the Role

We’re looking for a Member of Technical Staff to help build and scale our core mobile experience on Android. You’ll play a critical role in developing high-performance, real-time features for a rapidly growing user base.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, cares deeply about product quality, and has experience shipping and scaling native Android applications used by millions.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 base + equity.

Where You’ll Work: This is a full-time, on-site position in Santa Monica.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin.; Own features end-to-end, from technical design through implementation, testing, and release.; Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless user experiences.; Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across a wide range of Android devices.; Contribute to architectural decisions and establish best practices for Android development.; Identify and proactively solve technical challenges before they impact users or development velocity.; Participate in code reviews and mentor engineers to elevate overall team quality.; Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.

Requirements

5+ years of professional Android development experience.; Proven track record of shipping multiple native Android applications to the Google Play Store.; Experience building and scaling large-scale applications supporting millions of users.; Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack, Compose, and the Android SDK.; Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.).; Experience with modern networking stacks (GraphQL, gRPC, and REST) and building real-time features on streaming transports (WebRTC, WebSockets, LiveKit, and Agora).; Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with high ownership.

Nice to have

Experience with iOS development (Swift) and cross-platform considerations.; Familiarity with real-time, interactive, or live-streaming products.; Familiarity with Android-native Material Design components.; Fluency with AI development tools like Claude, Cursor, etc.
