Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Metallurgical Technician is responsible for undertaking day‑to‑day, client focused metallurgical testwork activities at Metallurgy Pty Ltd based in Welshpool.

This hands on position plays a key role in sample management, laboratory preparation, and routine testwork, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

Receive, prepare, and manage samples, including inventory preparation; Conduct a range of metallurgical testwork activities, including:; Sample drying and weighing; Rotary and riffle splitting; Crushing and grinding; Routine comminution testing and grind establishments; Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to a high-quality standard; Maintain accurate records and adhere to QA/QC procedures; Work independently using initiative, while also supporting senior technicians and team members; Maintain strong attention to detail and consistent work standard

Requirements

1 – 2 year's experience in the minerals processing / production / laboratory testing industries.; Knowledge and experience with various commodities and unit operations.; Experience with some metallurgical laboratory operations and /or testing operations.; A Forklift certification.; First aid training.
