Mobile Engineer - React Native (Paris or Remote France)

New position in Alma's Consumer Tribe, created as the consumer app organization splits into two squads (Alma Wallet and Consumer Engagement). The role involves building and shipping consumer features in the Alma mobile app, integrating payment capabilities, and raising the app's quality standards. The position is a permanent contract (CDI), open to full remote from Metropolitan France, and reports to Gautier Labarre, Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Develop and release new features in the Alma app from design to production, working closely with Product, Design and back-end engineers; integrate payment SDKs and native mobile capabilities such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, card management, biometrics and secure storage; keep the application fast, reliable and maintainable through automated testing, monitoring, code reviews and continuous performance improvements; contribute to technical decisions, challenge product and back-end implementation when needed, and improve the team's architecture, tooling and release processes

Requirements

3+ years of experience building mobile applications with React Native and TypeScript; experience releasing apps on both the App Store and Google Play; strong understanding of the React Native ecosystem, including Expo, navigation, state management and data fetching; experience with testing, code reviews, monitoring and mobile performance; fluent in English and comfortable working in a cross-functional, international environment

Nice to have

Experience working on payment products, fintech products or other security-sensitive applications; experience contributing to a consumer application used at scale; comfortable challenging product or back-end implementation when it does not provide the best user or technical outcome; experience with web development in addition to mobile development
