MRI Technologist - Per Diem - Days - MHP

Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization; Prepares equipment and supplies; Selects appropriate imaging parameters; Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment; Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary; Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department; Reviews patient history and physician's orders; Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation; When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate; Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s); Analyzes acquisition parameters and resulting sequences and identifies issues with the quality of images; Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and/or repeating images/sequences in conjunction with interpreting physicians and standard protocols; Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy; Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes

Requirements

Accredited Program: Imaging (Required); ARRT_American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART); Must be registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registered as a Technologist (ARMRIT)- Advance Registry MRI Technology within one calendar year of hire; Graduate of an accredited imaging program; No previous experience required; Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
