Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities

Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress; Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources; Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the healthcare team as well as the patient/family; Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services; Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards; Mentors peers and students; Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition including type and frequency of treatment

Requirements

Accredited Program: Occupational Therapy (Required); BLS American Heart E-Card; BLS American Heart RQI E-Card; BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard; BLS Certification Grace; BLS Cert Red Cross; Occupational Therapy License - State of Florida; Critical thinking skills; Effective communication skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action; No prior work experience required; Accountability; Clinical Policies and Standards; Customer Service; Documentation; Patient and Family Centered Care; Problem Solving; Responding to Change; Standards of Behavior
