Paint Aircraft Technician A

Technician shall prepare all components and airframe surfaces for painting and perform the painting of the components and airframes IAW Airbus manufacturer procedures

Responsibilities

Prepare all surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, filling, washing and removal of dents; Apply corrosive preventative treatments, primers, and finish coats of special Material; Mix and/or tint paint as required; Perform layout of paint schemes as specified by the customer; Apply paint materials to all prepared surfaces according to manufacturer instructions; Complete Aircraft for customer acceptance by brush touch-up, cleaning striping lines and removal of overspray; Perform on a daily basis releasing and updating time sheet; Sign off work clearly and legibly in a timely manner, using adequate description of work being performed; Fill out all necessary blocks on the Discrepancy sheets as required; Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work; Other duties as assigned by shop lead

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent; Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components; U.S. Person under ITAR requirements; Strong paint skills; Previous Paint work; Able to read and work from blue prints and Bills of material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied IAW Technical Data; Must be able to use basic hand tools to remove and install hardware; Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English; Problem solving skills for Paint
