Painter

Apply paints and various coatings to all types of surfaces. Detach and reattach wall mounted pictures, equipment and devices.

Responsibilities

Apply paints and various coatings to all types of surfaces; Detach and reattach wall mounted pictures, equipment and devices; Improve and maintain the overall interior appearance by painting and redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures; Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices; Apply paint with a spray gun or brush; Mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency; Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of the work areas including the workshop; Repair drywall; Assist others as part of the maintenance team to perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.

Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare facilities; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Possess a broad knowledge of facility operations and maintenance; Rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience; Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications; Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.

Nice to have

Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS); OSHA-10, OSHA 30, or Haz Work
