Part Time School Data Analyst

The School Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting assessment data as it relates to individual student achievement and to the overall academic performance of all schools grades K-12. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential data files of student achievement and will work to support data analysis training for teachers and administrators in the use of data to improve instruction and student learning outcomes, specifically for academically at-risk students. This position will also apply appropriate statistical measurements to data; review school and state data to develop comparison trends; and design and develop reports as requested for internal and external stakeholder reporting.

Responsibilities

Analyzing and interpreting assessment data as it relates to individual student achievement and to the overall academic performance of all schools grades K-12; Maintaining accurate and confidential data files of student achievement; Supporting data analysis training for teachers and administrators in the use of data to improve instruction and student learning outcomes, specifically for academically at-risk students; Applying appropriate statistical measurements to data; Reviewing school and state data to develop comparison trends; Designing and developing reports as requested for internal and external stakeholder reporting; Assisting with analyzing local, state, and national assessment data as it relates to individual student performance and school improvement, focused on at-risk students; Developing and maintaining historical student and school data files to monitor and track performance; Interpreting and reviewing assessment data with administrators and teachers; Compiling data from multiple assessments to develop student, subject, grade-level, or school achievement profiles; Working with faculty and staff in schools to conduct training in the use of data to improve instruction to target academic achievement where learning and achievement gaps are present; Ensuring the validity of all data presented to staff and stakeholders; Attending, as necessary and appropriate, training sessions/conferences related to assigned responsibilities to effectively use data to inform school improvement initiatives

Requirements

Residency in Florida; Bachelor's Degree in Education or field related AND two (2) years of data analyst experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to travel at least 15% of the time; Ability to pass required background check; Experience in using academic data to impact instruction and school strategic planning; Knowledge of quality management, systems, and strategic planning; Skilled in explaining testing and statistics to administrators, teachers, and parents; Ability to communicate, both in writing and orally, technical information in a way that is understandable to all stakeholders; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff from various areas of responsibility; Ability to learn new software and processes as they become available; Self-motivated and able to work in a quick paced environment; Ability to design and format data files and tables and to modify and update such structures as required; Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner

Nice to have

Salesforce experience working with data from various types of student assessments; Experience working with large data sets including data analysis, interpretation, and display; Experience working with SQL, Snowflake; Possess strong communication, organizational, analytical, and written skills; Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to interact positively with teachers, administrators, and support staff; Possess knowledge of the school improvement process; Proficient in Microsoft Office
