Patient Care Associate - 7 North (Neuro) - FT - Days - MRH

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff; Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output; Additional duties as assigned; Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly; Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating; Assists with transporting patients, as needed

Requirements

No Degree or any other education earned (Required); BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross); Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required; EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date; Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action; Accountability; Customer Service; Organization Skills; Patient and Family Centered Care; Patient Safety - Ancillary/Support; Problem Solving; Responding to Change; Standards of Behavior
