Patient Care Associate -Telemetry-FT- Days-MHM

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff; Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly; Assist with transporting patients, as needed; Additional duties as assigned; Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating; Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

Requirements

No Degree or any other education earned (Required); BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART); BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART); BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART); BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE); BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS); Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required; EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date; Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
