Patient Care Technician - Med/Surg, 32 hr evenings

If you are a caretaker at heart, consider joining the Beverly Hospital team as a Patient Care Technician under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide basic patient care activities in providing for the personal needs, comfort and safety of your patients. The Patient Care Technician will provide basic care activities and provide personal needs, comfort, and safety of your patient. The Patient Care Technician assists with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility will be focused on performing technical, therapeutic, and administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained. The Patient Care Technician must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for the quality of their own work and remain flexible in response to change.

Responsibilities

Provide basic patient care activities in providing for the personal needs, comfort and safety of patients; Assist with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse; Perform technical, therapeutic, and administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained; Take vital signs; Measure height and weight; Monitor oxygen saturation; Report all unusual observations to the nurse; Collect various specimens for analysis; Record and measure intake and output; Provide patient with personal care and assist with daily activities; Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN; Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding patients

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math; Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional; Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

Nice to have

CNA Certification (preferred but not required upon hire); Basic computer skills; Medical terminology; Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional
