Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Cardiac anesthesiologists participate in the care of high risk pediatric cardiac patients for non-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterizations, in addition to care of children in the general operating rooms. The program currently consists of two congenital heart surgeons, two mid-levels and one full-time anesthesiologist dedicated to the service line. The Presbyterian Congenital Heart Program is a rapidly growing program that treats pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of congenital heart conditions.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, monitor, and supervise patient care before, during, and after surgery, delivering anesthesia, leading the Anesthesia Care Team, and ensuring optimal patient safety; Administering pain relief before, during, and after medical procedures; Monitoring patients' vital signs during procedures; Approving general, sedative, regional, or local anesthetics; Participate in the care of high risk pediatric cardiac patients for non-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterizations, in addition to care of children in the general operating rooms

Requirements

MD/DO with successful completion of a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship; ABA Board Certified; Demonstrated proficiency in the anesthetic management of children and adults with congenital heart disease
