Per Diem Building Security Guard

As a Building Security Guard at The Oncenter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all team members and guests, with customer service being your number one focus. Your primary responsibility is to enforce security measures, deter potential incidents, and respond promptly to any security concerns that may arise during operations. This is a flexible, as-needed position with no set weekly schedule. Shifts are offered based on operational needs, and employees may pick up available shifts based on their availability.

Responsibilities

Enforce security measures and deter potential incidents; Respond promptly to security concerns; Maintain a safe and secure environment for team members and guests; Utilize surveillance systems to monitor premises; Greet and assist guests with information or directions; Conduct foot patrols; Verify credentials and enforce access control; Handle phone calls professionally; Conduct incident investigations and compile reports; Manage deliveries; Oversee lost and found; Respond to fire alarms; Collaborate with staff; Participate in ongoing training; Adhere to dress code; Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; New York State Security Guard License; Proven experience in security roles; Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations; Flexibility to work irregular hours, including holidays; Reliability and strong teamwork mindset; Adaptability to evolving circumstances; Proficiency in handling and resolving high-tension situations; Clear and effective verbal communication; Acute judgment, tact, and diplomacy; Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, or patrol for extended periods; Ability to maintain composure and make decisions swiftly in high-stress situations; Agility and flexibility to respond promptly to emergencies; Sharp vision to monitor and observe activities; Capacity to lift or move objects exceeding 50lbs
