Personal Support Worker

We’re looking for a female Personal Assistant to support an 18-year-old creative, funny, and fiercely individual young adult living in supported accommodation. This isn’t your average PA role, it’s about connection, creativity, and helping someone build independence while celebrating who they are. You’ll be supporting him to build independence and enjoy life, including community access, daily living skills, transport to education sessions, and encouraging confidence.

Responsibilities

Supporting community access & social activities; Helping develop daily living skills; Providing transport and support to education sessions (Heddon-on-the-Wall); Staying nearby during sessions & assisting with shopping afterwards; Encouraging confidence and reducing reliance on family

Requirements

Female applicants only (due to role requirements); Driver with own vehicle required (business insurance essential); Full UK driving license; Own personal car; Enhanced DBS (paid by employer) required; Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent; Flexible, resilient, and quick-thinking; Confident supporting (or willing to learn about) neurodivergence, PDA, misophonia, and situational mutism; Respectful of independence and autonomy; Able to build trust naturally
