Responsibilities

As a PreMaster in embedded sensor computing technologies, you conduct comprehensive analyses of RISC‑V processor cores and compare them against established commercial and proprietary CPU architectures; By evaluating different processor solutions, you assess software ecosystems including compilers, toolchains, embedded RTOS and AI frameworks; You analyze architectural capabilities by examining standard and custom instruction set extensions and their impact on system performance; Through ASIC‑based evaluations, you assess hardware efficiency with a focus on power, performance and area (PPA); In close collaboration with internal experts and external partners, you contribute to data-driven decision-making and present complex technical results to a professional audience

Requirements

Personality: Genuine curiosity and passion for processor technology and the hardware–software interface, analytical mindset and enthusiasm for deep technical topics; Working Practice: Structured, independent and proactive way of working, enjoys diving into complex architectures and learning through hands-on analysis and collaboration; Experience and Knowledge: Solid understanding of computer architecture fundamentals, embedded systems and AI on the edge, experience with C/C++ programming and compilers such as GCC or LLVM, knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL) is a plus; Languages: Very good English, German is a plus; Education: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Technology or a related field
