Project Engineer - Transportation Design - Seattle

We are seeking a dynamic and driven transportation engineer with great problem-solving skills and a desire to provide technical oversight and project design expertise as we develop and execute a wide variety of transportation projects out of our Seattle office. As a 100% employee-owned company, SCJ specializes in civil engineering, transportation planning & design, environmental & urban planning, landscape architecture & design, and public outreach. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance expectations; Create and execute project work plans, revise when appropriate to meet changing needs; Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities; Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes; Initiate and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate successful project completion; Set and manage client expectations; Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate options when project challenges arise; Represent the company in project meetings; Effectively facilitate team and client meetings; Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client loyalty; Provide oversight of project staff; Develop design alternatives; Supervise design staff in preparation of PS&E; Ensure QA/QC process is followed; Complete project documents; Initiate and complete any required documentation to support assigned projects; Write draft and final reports; Develop draft reports in concert with other project team members; Review deliverables prepared by team prior to executive-level review and submission to clients

Requirements

A passion for serving others, communication, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality work; A Professional Engineering (PE) license and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent; 4+ years of progressively responsible transportation engineering experience; AutoCAD and/or MicroStation 3D experience; Civil 3D and/or InRoads experience; Independence and initiative; Strong communication and leadership skills; The ability to organize and delegate; A healthy balance of logic and creativity
