Project Manager – Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

Responsibilities

Manage multiple environmental compliance projects simultaneously, including permitting, audits, and regulatory reporting; Serve as primary client point of contact; maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations; Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, CWA, CAA, and other federal/state programs as relevant to project scope); Oversee preparation and submission of permit applications, compliance reports, and regulatory correspondence; Coordinate internal technical staff (engineers, scientists, GIS specialists) and subcontractors to meet project deliverables; Manage project budgets, invoicing, and financial performance; track scope changes and manage contract modifications; Conduct or oversee site visits, compliance audits, and inspections as needed; Identify and mitigate project risks, including regulatory and schedule risks; Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client pursuit; Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure quality control on deliverables

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field; Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, or environmental project management; Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, etc.); Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Nice to have

Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CHMM, PG or PE) preferred but not required; Experience with federal programs, mining compliance, or litigation support a plus; Prior consulting experience serving industrial, oil and gas, municipal, or government clients; Familiarity with project management and GIS software a plus
