Psychiatrist (MD/DO) - Remote

BetterHelp is a technology-enabled mental health marketplace that connects patients with therapists and psychiatric providers covered by their insurance plans. By bringing patients, providers, and insurers together, we aim to remove barriers to care and help more people find the right support for their needs. You'll provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a convenient virtual setting. This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) position, not a salaried employee role.

Responsibilities

Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients through telemedicine; Assess, screen, diagnose, and prescribe medication when clinically appropriate; Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's needs; Coordinate treatment planning and care delivery with BetterHelp's network of licensed therapists; Deliver empathetic, high-quality care while upholding BetterHelp's clinical and service standards; Share feedback with BetterHelp's product, engineering, and operations teams to help improve the provider and patient experience

Requirements

At least one year of experience as a licensed Psychiatrist; Active medical license (MD/DO) in good standing; Experience prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable state law; Confidence using technology and online tools to deliver virtual care; Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach; Medical License (required); Located in the United States (required)

Nice to have

Previous telemedicine experience; Active medical licenses in multiple states; Fluency in additional languages
