Pupil Support Assistant

Do you have the patience, resilience and passion to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We’re recruiting Pupil Support Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Wandsworth. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may have experienced barriers to education, helping them build confidence, regulate their emotions and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs; Build positive, trusting relationships with young people; Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies; Encourage engagement in learning and personal development; Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to deliver tailored support

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people; Calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach; Confident supporting pupils with behaviours that may challenge; Passionate about making a lasting difference in young people's lives; Right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa; Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks; Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Children's Workforce (or Children's & Adults') Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
