Responsibilities

Prepares equipment and supplies; Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters; Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment; Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions; Positions patients and performs imaging procedures; Analyzes images and identifies image quality issues; Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning the patient and repeating the procedure if clinically appropriate; Reviews patient history and physician's orders; Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams; Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department; When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; Monitors patient condition continually and responds to changes in status; Charges appropriately for all supplies used and utilizes appropriate exam codes

Requirements

Accredited Program: Radiology (Required); ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification; BLS American Heart E-Card or BLS Cert American Heart (non e-card); Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT License) from the State of Florida; Must possess an active Radiography Certificate from the State of Florida; Must take the ARRT(R) examination; Candidate must obtain (M) Certification within 1 year if hired to support Women Imaging; Must be flexible to travel to all MHS Women's Imaging Centers; Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
