Radiologic Technologist 2

Produces high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted. With minimal supervision, demonstrates proficiency and competence in all aspects of job responsibilities and expectations, and consistently demonstrates initiative to assist in other areas of the department when the need arises. May work with student technologists to sign off on their required competencies while rotating through department. Requires minimal supervision. Completes all associated paper and computer work for discharging patients with appropriate post procedure instructions.

Responsibilities

Produces high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner; Verifies and follows referring providers' orders; Prepares room and patient per order; Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors; Utilizes electronic patient information systems; Maintains appropriate supplies in the X-ray rooms; Transfers patients to and from imaging tables; Maintains accurate patient record keeping; Completes and bills for studies accurately; May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities

Requirements

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required; ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with CE credits upon hire required
