Radiology Technologist CDH Interventional Labs Full-time Days Sign-on Bonus Available

The Interventional Radiology Technologist I reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Work in a fun interventional laboratory department that provides cutting edge care to patients, with opportunities to learn about and participate in procedures across Neuro-IR, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology.

Responsibilities

Performs all aspects of patient care in a manner which optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors; Performs all aspects of interventional procedure process including set up, patient preparation, procedures, supply management and room turnover; Prepares by assessing each patient's relevant clinical data prior to procedures; Performs sterile table set up and patient preparation following aseptic techniques; Scrubs in and circulates on diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures; Provides vascular sheath management as directed by the physician; Positions and drapes patients for optimal arterial or venous access; Assesses patients to determine appropriate procedure protocol and imaging method; Performs intra-procedural clinical documentation via integrated medical record and hemodynamic system; Assists with lifting, moving, positioning, and transporting patients; Employs imaging systems and accessory devices appropriately; Performs imaging procedures in accordance with radiation safety practices; Reviews and evaluates clinical data or imaging against clinical standards and takes corrective action as needed; Completes the filing and post processing of images; Assists with coordination of procedural scheduling; Maintains and cleans work areas and equipment per hospital standards; Monitors stock and specialized inventory, practicing rotation of dated items; Reports equipment failures and irregularities to supervisory and/or biomedical personnel; Assists in updating and developing procedure manuals; Communicates effectively with patients, families, team members and providers; Manages work schedule efficiently; Provides on-call coverage for emergent procedures and responds to be on duty within 30 minutes or less for cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional radiology procedures

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Associate Degree in Applied Sciences; ARRT Certification; IEMA Licensure; BLS through American Heart Association; ACLS through American Heart Association within 6 months of hire

Nice to have

Minimum of 1 year experience in similar role within an active interventional cardiac cath, NeuroIR, IR, or EP labs; Bachelor of Science Degree
