Resource Nursing Assistant I - Nights

Resource Nursing Assistant I - Nights position at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC. Full time, benefits eligible, 40 hours per week. The Resource Nursing Assistant position for Wake's Resource Team requires floating to Baptist, Alleghany Health, Hugh Chatham, and Wilkes. Assists RN with daily care of patients, measures and documents patient data, participates in admission/transfer/discharge, collects specimens, performs patient positioning and transporting duties, and practices infection prevention.

Responsibilities

Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation; Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs, I & O, daily weights, and other patient data; Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN; Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN; Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing; Completes various errands including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports; Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling; Performs tasks related to nutritional needs and maintaining skin integrity; May be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans; Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention; Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served

Requirements

Active CNA in good standing; 1+ year acute/hospital experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days; Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices; Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate; Basic computer skills; Excellent oral and written communication; Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities; Must be able to travel to Baptist, Alleghany Health, Hugh Chatham, and Wilkes; Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over head, carry up to 40 lbs, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present
