Restaurant & Bakery Host/Cashier

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and quality of work environment as directed by Manager on Duty. Controls the flow of business in the dining room so guests feel welcome and comfortable. Check out Guests at the register. Provides genuine hospitality to each guest ensuring their dining experience is highly satisfactory.

Responsibilities

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies; Controls the flow of business in the dining room; Checks out guests at the register; Opens the door for guests; Uses greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures; Seats guests in a friendly and timely manner; Completes wait sheets; Welcomes guests and makes a friendly first impression; Describes features, soup of the day, etc.; Offers suggestions for take-out bakery items; Packages to-go orders; Ensures cashier area, bakery cases, lobby, entryway, restrooms, and dining room stay clean; Ensures menus are clean; Processes to-go orders; Assists servers with pre-bussing procedures; Sweeps floors around tables; Performs side work during downtime; Provides assistance to servers and bus persons; Ensures 100% guest satisfaction on every visit; Communicates with Manager on Duty regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems; Keeps General Manager and Manager on Duty informed of issues and proposes solutions

Requirements

Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service; No experience required; Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours; Ability to see at a distance of 20 feet and at close range of 12 inches; Ability to distinguish between shapes and utilize peripheral vision; Ability to communicate clearly; Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold; Ability to reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5-3 feet; High level of mobility and flexibility; Time management skills; Ability to read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations; Ability to control and utilize fingers to write, slice, chop, and operate equipment; Ability to fit through openings 30 inches wide; Ability to work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times; Bending, reaching, walking; Ability to carry trays weighing about 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals; At least 16 years of age; Legal right to work in the United States
