Retail Assistant

We are seeking full-time Retail & Forecourt Assistants who are fully flexible to work at Ballyhea Express Top Oil Service Station, Charleville, Co. Cork! Objective: To delight customers by exceeding their expectations on every visit. The Retail Assistant provides ongoing support to the Management Team to ensure every customer receives the best quality, service, and cleanliness each time they visit the store.

Responsibilities

To delight customers by exceeding their expectations on every visit; Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner; Communicate with customers effectively and welcomingly; Deal with customer complaints professionally and pleasantly; Compute sales prices, total purchases, and process payments accurately; Follow company policies and procedures; Maintain knowledge of current in-store sales and promotions; Open and close cash registers, count money, balance cash drawers, and make deposits; Clean shelves, counters, and floors internally and externally; Clean all areas of the store including staff facilities; Maintain Coffee Dock area and equipment hygiene; Receive and check stock in line with company guidelines; Pack stock per merchandising guidelines and store per food hygiene policy; Rotate stock appropriately to minimise waste; Conduct stock takes as instructed; Take care of health and safety and reduce risks and hazards; Help out at Supermac’s counter when busy; Prepare food for resale in line with HACCP regulations; Check temperatures and maintain HACCP records; Perform any other duties assigned by management

Requirements

Candidates must be 18 years old or older due to the requirement of serving alcohol and tobacco; Fully flexible availability; Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills; Friendly, professional manner; Strong people skills; Above-average listening skills; Organization and planning skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Attention to detail; Good work ethic; Good attitude towards customers and fellow workers; Legal right to work in Ireland
