Retail Lead

We are looking for a confident, people-focused Retail Lead to join our Greymouth clinic and help shape the retail experience across West Coast Vets. This is a full-time role for someone who enjoys bringing people, service and commercial thinking together. Based in the heart of the West Coast, you’ll lead from the front in a close-knit clinic that supports pets, farms and rural communities. It’s a role with real variety, visible impact and the chance to build a life in a region known for rugged coastlines, native bush, open space and down-to-earth people.

Responsibilities

Leading, coaching and developing the retail team to deliver superb client experience; Building a positive team culture with strong product and sales knowledge; Managing workflow, training, feedback and day-to-day team performance; Driving sustainable retail sales growth and achievement of agreed goals; Leading inventory processes, including receipting, stock control, stocktakes and waste reduction; Working closely with clinical teams to provide practical, meaningful solutions for clients; Maintaining high standards of retail presentation, safety and seasonal promotions

Requirements

2+ years’ experience in a retail role; experience in an agricultural or veterinary environment and understanding farming seasonality; confident people leader who can organise priorities, give feedback and navigate conflict; ability to build trusted relationships easily and genuinely enjoy helping clients; strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, and a current full driver’s licence
