RN, Research

Participates in ongoing research studies such as phase 1-3 vaccine studies or studies in therapeutic agents in both adults and pediatric populations. Works independently, utilizing strong interpersonal skills in communicating with adult subjects and their families, their health care providers, and a willingness to develop the logistics of subject enrollment, persistence and flexibility in assuring on-going subject cooperation and good data collection skills.

Responsibilities

Participates in ongoing research studies such as phase 1-3 vaccine studies or studies in therapeutic agents in both adults and pediatric populations; Conducts unstructured interviews with subjects and families as required by protocol; Performs clinical research related procedures such as blood draws, nasal washes, and swabs; Evaluates subjects for local or systemic reactions to determine adverse events; Identifies subject pool and screens eligibility in clinic settings or by telephone; Obtains informed consent and proceeds with enrollment procedures; Attends and participates in study team meetings and sponsor-required training; Oversees Quality Assurance and Control to optimize site study performance; Performs QA of charts and ensures procedures are per protocol; Inventories study supplies and assists with data entry

Requirements

Associate's degree in Nursing; Phlebotomy skills for adult and pediatric patients and good computer skills; Independent and organized professional with superior interpersonal skills, sound judgment and good oral and written communication skill; RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in NYS upon hire

Nice to have

Bachelor's degree in Nursing; 1 year clinical trials experience
