Sales Tax Accountant (100% Remote Work)

TaxValet is looking for a Sales Tax Accountant to help our clients eliminate the hassle and risk of sales tax. As a team member of a growing start-up, you’ll work to ensure that each of your clients’ needs are taken care of each month. You will use your keen eye for attention to detail to solve time-critical problems for clients, submit sales tax filings, and contribute to improving the team’s workflows and processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit sales tax filings; Monitor clients' tax collection variances; Provide assistance to resolve time-critical issues; Assist with special client projects; Update internal documentation, workflows, and processes; Be primary point of contact for clients; Learn new skills on an ongoing basis

Requirements

At least 2 years of accounting experience; Multi-client management; Excel/Google Sheets skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis); Some bookkeeping or accounting experience; Comfortable with learning and using new technology; High-speed and reliable home internet; Detail-oriented; Data analysis skills; Excellent time management; Multi-tasking; Team player; Eager to learn new skills and technologies; Effective communicator in English (writing, video chats, phone calls); Ability to bring order and clarity to complex situations; Willing to challenge the status quo; Follow rules and processes but also creative
