Salty Processing Operator

The Salty Processing Operator, under general supervision, is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of processing machinery while maintaining continuous flow of product to the packaging lines. Responsibilities include making minor adjustments to the machinery to achieve the correct product, troubleshooting, maintenance of machinery, and record keeping.

Responsibilities

Operates processing equipment to produce product within Quality Assurance guidelines; properly mixes ingredients and monitors temperature/moisture; operates and shuts down equipment in accordance with established procedures; communicates and escalates quality issues; reads and understands batch sheets, recipes, and raw material weights; monitors and logs temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and weights; monitors for foreign matter; follows sanitation procedures and chemical handling; tracks and disposes of waste; moves raw ingredients using forklift/pallet jack; maintains proper raw material levels; maintains inventory and disposal of cutter blades; tests and receives new oil and maintains oil levels; maintains heat exchanger system; monitors seasoning coverage; practices safety and hygiene guidelines; mandatory overtime may be required; may perform other duties as required

Standing continuously; walking continuously; using hands continuously; two-handed carrying frequently; reaching continuously; pushing continuously; pulling continuously; overhead work standing frequently; fine motor skills/manipulation continuously; bending continuously; vision far, near, peripheral, and depth perception continuously; lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs continuously; lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs continuously; lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs frequently; lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs seldom/never with assistance; lifting/carrying more than 100 lbs seldom/occasionally with assistance; working in loud environment; exposed to moving mechanical parts; wet/humid conditions; high/precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; caustic chemicals; mandatory overtime may be required

Nice to have

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required; 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required
