SEIU Environmental Svcs Worker

Responsibilities

Performs general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings such as residence halls, hospital, administration/academic buildings, etc.; Operates a variety of light or heavy duty housekeeping and floor maintenance machines and equipment to strip, wax and buff floors; Performs cleaning and disinfecting procedures; Washes walls, ceilings and stairs; Empties wastebaskets and picks up trash; Maintains cleanliness of work storage closet and equipment; Performs other similar duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as assigned.

Requirements

Requires ability to understand and carry out oral instructions; Stands, walks, bends and reaches continuously; Handles heavy and medium-weight material, equipment and supplies; Is normally exposed to refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes and odors indoors and outdoors; Occasionally exposed to the possibility of contacts with infection and infectious diseases.
