SEIU Food Service Worker

Exercising courtesy in contacts with patients, customers and department staff, sets up, serves and cleans up food service area; prepares orders, such as soda fountain dishes, desserts, etc., as directed. Maintains prescribed standards of sanitation, housekeeping and safety in assigned work area.

Responsibilities

Exercising courtesy in contacts with patients, customers and department staff; setting up, serving and cleaning up food service area; preparing orders, such as soda fountain dishes, desserts, etc.; maintaining prescribed standards of sanitation, housekeeping and safety in assigned work area; performing limited food preparation or final processing of simple salads, desserts, vegetables, etc.; setting up, maintaining and cleaning beverage containers including coffee, iced tea, hot chocolate, cream, juice and ice dispensers and related equipment; washing and sanitizing dining room tables and chairs; setting up patient trays; pulling and/or pushing food transporters; reporting defective equipment to immediate supervisor; occasionally acting as fill-in cashier.

Requirements

Ability to read and write English, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
