Semi Truck Driver - 2nd Shift

As a Support Tech IV (Semi-Truck Driver), you will join a dynamic team of the company's winning culture by supporting the Mercury Marine values of: Integrity, Customer Centricity, Product & Service Leadership, Sustainability, and Employee Engagement through the production of high quality inboard and outboard marine engines.

Responsibilities

Receive work orders from Supervisor, suppliers and customers; Establish own work schedule based on customer and supplier requirements; Perform operator maintenance as per Operator Inspection Report; Check material loaded by material handlers to ensure the tractor-trailer operates safely; Determine loading sequence and available trailer capacity to meet delivery requirements; Plan daily work schedule to meet customers' desired delivery times; Respond to calls and coordinate activities between customers and suppliers; Deliver trailers to designated locations; Pick up second trailer or load and deliver to designated location; Perform various dock duties; Drive gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver packaged and loose materials; Report all defects to supervisors or Group Lead; Check load weight and report overload conditions to supervisor; Ensure product, documentation and delivery time reflect customer needs; Properly complete forms and reports; Keep tractor, trailer and/or work area clean; Observe all company and highway safety rules

Requirements

Obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with air brakes; Obtain a Federal Medical (Fed Med) card; Possess a special skill to maintain control of the truck while backing, turning, cornering and negotiating narrow passageways; Maintain vehicle inspection book per company and D.O.T regulations; Observe all company and highway safety rules; Utilize radio and cellular phone for scheduling and communication
