SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in schools across Bath and North East Somerset. This is a general recruitment advert for candidates who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning and participate fully in school life.

Responsibilities

Helping pupils access learning and participate fully in school life; providing one-to-one or small group support; assisting pupils with additional learning, communication, social, emotional or physical needs; implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs); supporting positive behaviour; working closely with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

Caring, reliable, and enthusiastic; passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient and adaptable approach; genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing, independence and progress of every pupil; confident building positive relationships with children, staff and families; calm, professional approach in classroom settings; understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

Nice to have

Previous experience working within a school; relevant transferable skills supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults
