Senior Account Executive, Public Relations (Health)

Responsibilities

Lead tactical execution of key PR program elements including media relations, analyst relations, awards, speaking, and content; Manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets; Lead regular client communications, including owning and facilitating weekly PR calls and check-ins; Serve as a go-to resource for clients, offering strategic counsel; Develop and present quarterly campaigns and PR plans; Track competitor activity and identify opportunities for client commentary and positioning; Participate in media training sessions, developing key messages and handling follow-up; Develop budget recommendations and team priority allocations; Own and lead media relations efforts across key healthcare, health-tech, and business publications; Develop and deliver proactive, creative pitches that generate coverage; Identify emerging media opportunities and industry trends; Utilize social and digital channels to amplify earned media and engage influencer communities; Support social media influencer campaigns; Measure and report on the ROI of communications activities; Provide coaching to junior team members; Plan and create strategic content for campaigns and PR programs; Write and edit press releases, pitches, Q&As, award submissions, speaking abstracts, contributed articles, blog posts, executive bios, fact sheets, backgrounders, and briefing books; Lead reporting efforts using analytics tools; Present performance updates and campaign insights to clients; Collaborate across departments and specialty teams; Help evaluate and implement AI tools into workflows; Mentor junior team members; Foster a collaborative team environment; Participate in new business efforts, from research to presentation; Contribute to Highwire's thought leadership; Attend networking events and industry panels; Set and track quarterly goals with your manager; Prioritize responsibilities based on impact, client goals, and internal workflow; Drive projects forward independently; Consistently meet deadlines or communicate proactively when changes arise

Requirements

3–5 years of PR/communications experience in an agency setting (required); Background in healthcare, health-tech, life sciences, or medical technology sectors; Demonstrated success in developing media relationships and securing impactful placements; Strong writing and editing skills across a variety of formats and audiences; Experience managing multiple priorities and leading day-to-day client work; Comfort with data, analytics, and ROI reporting; A growth mindset, collaborative spirit, and desire to lead within a team environment
