Senior Commercial Analyst

This isn't a role for someone who simply prepares reports and sends them on. We're looking for someone who can uncover what the numbers mean, identify opportunities, tell the story behind the data and help drive better commercial outcomes.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll act as the primary finance partner for the Autobarn business.

You'll work closely with operational leaders to understand performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions and provide insights that influence business decisions.

Success in this role comes from building strong stakeholder relationships, asking the right questions and translating complex financial information into practical commercial recommendations.

What Success Looks Like

Responsibilities

Partner with operational leaders across the Autobarn network; Deliver meaningful commercial insights and recommendations; Support budgeting, forecasting and planning processes; Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis; Lead monthly performance reviews and reporting; Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margin and profitability; Develop dashboards, reporting tools and process improvements; Support month-end activities, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls; Analyse working capital, inventory performance and business trends; Drive accountability through performance reporting and commercial challenge; Build strong relationships across the Autobarn business; Develop a deep understanding of the P&L and key performance drivers; Become a trusted partner to operational stakeholders; Deliver insights that support commercial decision-making; Identify opportunities to improve reporting, efficiency and business performance; Gain confidence navigating systems, processes and the broader Bapcor network

Requirements

3+ years' experience in commercial finance, financial analysis, management reporting or business partnering; Strong analytical and problem-solving capability; Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting; The ability to translate data into meaningful commercial insights and recommendations; Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; A curious mindset with a desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers; Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets; Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics or a related discipline; CA/CPA qualified, studying or willing to study
