Senior Data Collection Operator

Genesis is a full-stack general-purpose robot company with offices in San Francisco, London and Paris. The company is building robots that learn from real, dexterous human work, captured with its own collection hardware. The senior data collection operator will help scale the data collection operation in Paris, working with the Paris research and engineering teams and the Bay Area operation. The role is hands-on, combining leadership of the Paris floor with direct data collection, teleoperation, task setup, and real-robot testing.

Responsibilities

Help lead the Paris data collection floor and set the execution and quality bar; Own complex collection setups, including setup, fixtures, props, environment, and procedure; Create high-quality training data by teleoperating hardware and producing precise demonstrations; Own the full collection workflow, including review, quality checks, identifying unusable episodes, and supporting annotation; Build repeatable tasks and clear processes executable by other operators; Partner with research and model engineering teams on collection tasks and strategy; Improve the operation, including fixtures, station layouts, procedures, and collection methods; Write and improve SOPs, quality checks, and training materials; Guide, onboard, train, and mentor other operators; Run real-robot testing and document observations; Own quality of personal and team work

Requirements

Experience doing precise, repetitive physical work to a high quality bar, able to explain what made the work good and how it was measured; Ability to build and create repeatable tasks from loosely defined requests with minimal support; Ability to operate autonomously on complex collection tasks with limited day-to-day engineering support; Understanding of quality beyond collection, including recognizing unusable or below-standard data; Experience training, mentoring, or leading others doing hands-on work; Ability to work well with research and engineering teams and translate their requests into physical tasks; Exceptional attention to detail; Technically handy, comfortable with Linux, some Python scripting, and hardware assembly and troubleshooting; Comfortable in a fast-moving environment; Communicates well in English; Prolonged standing and repetitive hand and arm movements while wearing collection equipment; Handling and lifting of loads up to 23 kg

Nice to have

Hands-on robot or glove-based data collection experience; Experience with motion capture, teleoperation, robotics lab work, or fine craft; French language skills; Partnering with a reliability or test team on real-robot testing
