Senior Design Engineer (Bilingual English) - Remote

Responsibilities

Develop advanced 3D models for high-wear applications, ensuring optimal material flow; Execute 3D DEM simulations to predict wear patterns, optimize liner profiles, and validate performance; Perform precision reverse engineering of components to identify improvement opportunities; Produce detailed 2D technical drawings for manufacturing and installation; Collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager (Panama) to translate customer needs into high-performance engineering solutions; Conduct regular technical site visits and maintain ongoing engagement with mining operations; Identify cost-saving and performance improvement opportunities.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience); Strong expertise in Ansys FEA and DEM software; High proficiency in CAD software (Unigraphics NX), including advanced 3D modeling and 2D drafting; Proven experience developing innovative products aligned with customer operational needs; Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken); Understanding of project management or related tools; Strong ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels; Customer Focus: Anticipates needs and delivers practical, high-impact solutions; Collaboration: Works cross-functionally and builds strong relationships with stakeholders; Accountability: Takes ownership of results and drives continuous improvement.

Nice to have

Knowledge of mineral processing circuits and material handling equipment (conveyors, chutes, etc.); Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM; Experience supporting mining operations in Latin America and/or other markets.
