(Senior) Design System Engineer (f/m/d)

ZEAL Network SE is a dynamic, international group of companies creating lottery experiences for over 20 years, including the brands LOTTO24 and Tipp24, with a team of 350+ professionals. The role focuses on evolving, expanding and maintaining component libraries across iOS, Android and Web, fed by a shared design system.

Responsibilities

Evolve, expand and maintain component libraries on all platforms (iOS, Android and Web): Angular, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI fed by a shared design system; Partner closely with UI/UX designers on component APIs, naming, states, and variants, keeping code in sync with the Figma library; Define the system's architecture: theming and brand layering, versioning, releases, and a contribution model for domain teams; Maintain living documentation (e.g. Storybook) and drive adoption through pairing, reviews, and migration paths; Make accessibility and responsive behavior built-in properties of components; Adopt agentic coding practices and use AI coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining ownership of technical decisions, code quality, and outcomes

Requirements

Several years as a frontend or mobile engineer, including hands-on ownership of a design system or shared component library used by multiple teams; TypeScript and Angular skills or comparable depth in another modern framework / library and a clear willingness to go all in on Angular plus a sharp instinct for component API design; Hands-on native UI development with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose or Swift/SwiftUI, authoring native components yourself (strong expertise in one platform with an interest in working knowledge of the other is fine); Experience with design tokens and theming multi-brand environments; Strong grasp of responsive and adaptive design and of accessibility standards, with the habit of verifying both in practice; Product mindset toward internal tooling, treating the design system and component libraries as a product measured by adoption; Enjoys enabling other teams and building consensus across engineering and design
