Senior Designer / Project Architect

Shepley Bulfinch is seeking a well-rounded Senior Project Architect who is creative and passionate about architecture, curious about solving complex problems, and looking to grow and learn from others that share the same values. The ability to manage a team of 3-10 people, establishing project workplans (staffing, budget, schedule) and fulfilling contractual, financial and cost control responsibilities. We are looking for someone comfortable leading or assisting on the internal production and delivery of architectural drawings, interfacing with clients, and leading meetings during the construction administration phase of a project.

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 3-10 people; Establish project workplans (staffing, budget, schedule); Fulfill contractual, financial and cost control responsibilities; Lead or assist on the internal production and delivery of architectural drawings; Interface with clients; Lead meetings during the construction administration phase of a project

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience working on all phases of architectural projects; Prior experience with higher education and/or urban development; B.Arch., M.Arch. or equivalent degree; Significant experience managing and using Revit for architectural documentation; Experience reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs and revising documents in Revit; Up to 20% travel expected regionally and nationally; Collaborative, flexible and well-rounded; Proven experience in making your voice heard to fulfill the design goals of the firm; Ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients and contractors; Ability to work independently and collaboratively; Passionate about design and comfortable explaining design choices; Strong foundation of technical knowledge and familiarity with both interior and exterior detailing; Ability to manage a team of 3-10 people; Establishing project workplans (staffing, budget, schedule); Fulfilling contractual, financial and cost control responsibilities; Leading or assisting on the internal production and delivery of architectural drawings; Interfacing with clients; Leading meetings during the construction administration phase of a project
